💪 WORKOUT OF THE MONTH 💪
We’re going short and simple here with this mini workout that’s perfect to add in as a “Finisher” to any other workout or run you might be doing throughout the week.
It’s a quick burst of high-intensity that’ll help build some further cardiovascular endurance with an upper-body strength focus.
The workout is:
Perform 10 burpees and 10 pullups.
Immediately followed by 9 burpees and 9 pullups.
Then 8 and 8, 7 and 7, and so on.
Your final round being 1 burpee and 1 pullup.
Depending on fitness level and how hard you push this, it could be anywhere from ~ 6-12 minutes.
*Feel free to modify to jumping pullups or banded pullups if needed.
OCR BENEFIT: This quick workout will boost stamina and strengthen the back, arms, and core for climbing walls, ropes and rigs. And also simulate the explosive transitions between obstacles with your quick burpees and turnaround between exercises.
WHY SHOULD YOU DO IT: It’s super time-efficient, you’ll feel like you accomplished a lot in very little time. Need something quick and dirty in the morning? Right after a regular easy run? Or while you’re waiting for some laundry to finish up?!?!
Throw this quick workout in, you won’t regret it. 👍️
It also hits multiple muscle groups and replicates the high-energy demands of OCR racing. It’s an all-around win/win.
How fast can you complete it?!?!

📷️ MEDIA OF THE WEEK 📷️
Red Bull puts on an obstacle event in Ibiza.
The Red Bull Ibiza Royale happened in early April. They had over 200 teams from over 50 countries come out and compete on this ~1.5k course, with a bunch of ascent, through the Ibiza Castle and with 8’ish obstacles created by a variety of athletes. One of which we all recognize in OCR! With Ida Mathilde Steensgaard creating one of the obstacles.
This wasn’t any elite competition. It was fun and pushed camaraderie. And some of the obstacles seemed…. weak…. compared to what us OCR fanatics like to see.
But hey. Any obstacle race being pushed out by a big company like Red Bull is cool to see. And maybe they’ll get over to the U.S. one of these days, for us to check out.
Until then. Check this YouTube clip from a dude with a GoPro which was a fun watch.

THIS WEEK IN OCR HISTORY
On April 25, 2010, Tough Mudder held its first international event in the UK, near Leeds, marking a pivotal moment in OCR’s global expansion. The 10–12 mile course featured obstacles like the “Arctic Enema” (ice bath) and “Electroshock Therapy,” emphasizing teamwork over competition. This event introduced Tough Mudder’s unique camaraderie-driven ethos to Europe, attracting thousands and setting the stage for its worldwide popularity.
